China on Wednesday elevated its protection spending by 7.2% this yr, the identical progress charge as within the prior two years, as Beijing seeks to “firmly safeguard” its nationwide safety.

In an official authorities report on account of be launched in parliament, China proposed a nationwide protection finances of 1.78 trillion yuan ($244.99 billion) for the 2025 fiscal yr.
