U.S. President Donald Trump signed an government order Thursday stateside to implement a commerce take care of Japan, with 15% baseline tariffs on most Japanese items, together with autos.

The Thursday order prevents Trump’s country-specific tariffs on prime of current levies. The decrease tariffs will apply retroactively to Japanese items “entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 12:01 a.m. jap daylight time on August 7, 2025,” the order acknowledged. The tariff reduction on vehicles is ready to take impact after seven days.
