UnionPay, NITMX to Enable QR Code Payments Between China and Thailand

UnionPay Worldwide (UPI) and Nationwide ITMX (NITMX) have partnered to combine China’s UnionPay cost system with Thailand’s PromptPay.

The preliminary section of this collaboration will permit Chinese language vacationers to utilise the UnionPay app, particularly the YunShanFu app, to pay through PromptPay QR codes at Thai retailers.

It will mirror the cost expertise they’ve in China.

Subsequently, Thai vacationers will be capable of use UnionPay QR codes for funds inside China.

The settlement, formalised via a signing ceremony attended by monetary sector officers from each nations, seeks to streamline digital cost for vacationers between China and Thailand.

This partnership will prolong using the YunShanFu app throughout common Thai vacationer locations like Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, enabling customers to scan PromptPay QR codes as they do domestically.

NITMX can also be actively working with different Chinese language cost suppliers to additional improve cross-border cost capabilities.
