A Florida choose on Friday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Trulieve Hashish in opposition to the state Republican Celebration throughout the firm’s failed push to legalize adult-use marijuana within the Sunshine State.

Tallahassee-headquartered Trulieve, which payments itself because the world’s largest hashish retailer, spent greater than $144.5 million on the Modification 3 marketing campaign final fall.

Although practically 56% of voters supported legalization, state regulation requires 60% assist to go a constitutional modification.

The Good & Secure Marketing campaign loved an endorsement from Donald Trump, but it surely was up in opposition to robust opposition from Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state Republican Celebration.

It was the state GOP in addition to two tv stations that ran “misleading campaigns” meant “to idiot Florida voters” into voting in opposition to authorized marijuana, Trulieve alleged in a lawsuit filed in October.

As Politico Professional reported, Gadsden County Circuit Courtroom Decide Ronald W. Flury granted state Republicans’ movement to dismiss the swimsuit – and with prejudice, which means it can’t be refiled.

The adverts included a declare that Trulieve had written Modification 3 to “double down on a longstanding ban on rising pot at dwelling and create a monopoly on the adult-use market,” Politico reported.

That echoed critiques from hashish advocates, who identified that as written, Modification 3 gave first-mover standing to current medical-marijuana therapy heart (MMTC) license-holders – and didn’t assure new entrants into the market.

In an announcement, the Florida GOP celebrated the ruling, calling it an “embarrassing loss for Huge Weed.”

Within the meantime, a rematch seems to be brewing: on January 14, the Good & Secure Florida marketing campaign filed a petition to position one other legalization measure on the November 2026 poll.

Trulieve operates 160 dispensaries in Florida and a 750,000-square foot cultivation operation, it famous throughout quarterly filings.
