Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday known as out Air India for allotting him a “damaged” seat on a flight from Bhopal to Delhi. In a strongly worded put up on X, Chouhan described the seat as “sunken and uncomfortable” and questioned why passengers had been being bought tickets for faulty seats.

“I had booked a ticket on Air India flight AI436 and was allotted seat quantity 8C. After I sat, I sank into it—it was uncomfortable,” he wrote, including that fellow passengers supplied him a greater seat, however he selected to stay in his assigned seat to keep away from inconveniencing others.

Chouhan claimed that when he confronted airline workers, they admitted that the administration had already been knowledgeable concerning the defective seat and had been suggested towards promoting tickets for it. “Not only one, however many such seats exist,” he alleged, questioning whether or not Air India deliberate to repair these points or proceed “benefiting from passengers’ compulsion to achieve their vacation spot.”

His remarks additionally took a swipe at Air India’s transition below the Tata Group, expressing disappointment within the airline’s service post-merger with Vistara. “I believed Air India’s service would enhance after Tata took over, however it appears I used to be mistaken,” he remarked.

Calling it “unethical” to cost full fare for a defective seat, he immediately questioned, “Isn’t this dishonest the passengers?”
